Recently moved to Dubai, from Australia.

No waves here. The ocean has perfect banks but no waves, no surfing.

The UAE is committed to developing business, industry and tourism and I'm sure they would be open to ideas like this and possibly willing to pour some funding into it.

We have seen them build SKI DUBAI here in the desert which is a major tourist attraction.

Maybe thats what it takes. One in Dubai to be the start for the rest of the world to wake up to the idea of surfing anywhere in the world. Future sites in central USA, or indoor venues in Europe during mid winter.

UAE vision 'If you build it, they will come'.

If could start making some enquiries with the big wigs - Emaar, Nakheel, Dubai properties. Dubaiworld are probably the right people to speak to, but how do you get in touch with them and Kelly Slater?

Let me know if I can help. Have no interest other than creating a surf environment here.

My guess is that if the actual Wave Ring technology works, then it would be possible to build one in a lake. And that, Scabby, would be sweet.
